We cordially invite you to join us to welcome our amazing students to U-M! If you can attend, please register. Please join us Friday, August 23, 5 p.m., Kinesiology Building (830 North University), Auditorium (Rm #2500). Transitioning by procession to Trotter Multicultural Center at 5:45 p.m. so that our students can see their village of support! Please RSVP by August 16.

Harambee has three essential components: The opening program, the sacred processional/pilgrimage, and the networking experience. There will be a brief program (45 minutes) starting at 5 p.m. where top administrators and student leaders will welcome our students to campus. Following the opening program, we will create a path of faculty and staff from the Kinesiology building to the Trotter Multicultural Center, symbolizing our collective support and encouragement for their journey ahead. We need staff and faculty members who are willing to join us in this walk, cheer on our students, and help create a powerful visual representation of unity and support. Your presence will make a significant impact and show our students that they are valued and supported by the entire academic community. We will be led by a team of drummers who will guide students through the path to the Trotter Multicultural Center.

Once the last student has entered the path, we will follow and join students in Trotter for food and fellowship. There will be opportunities to connect with students, share helpful information, and build meaningful relationships.
