What is your role and what are your responsibilities?

I am a Building Manager Team Lead, so I help with many of the daily tasks such as building maintenance, customer service, hourly rounds and event setup. I also help supervise the Building Managers.

What do you enjoy about Trotter?

I enjoy the community that the space builds and the history it represents, especially as a Black student and former Black Student Union member. There’s nothing else like it on campus.

What is your favorite experience from your time here?

My favorite experience was when I was able to have my art added to the Trotter Black History Month wall last year. It was even added again for a recent event. I love painting, so it was nice to see my work every day while I did hourly rounds.

What are your favorite things to do on campus?

I love to go to the Michigan Theater, specifically when movies are playing in the auditorium. It’s gorgeous, and I recommend that everyone go see a movie there at least once on the balcony before they graduate.

What would you say to students who haven't visited Trotter?

I would say to come and try to take advantage of Trotter while you can. Depending on where you live and work in the future, it may be hard to find a community of people who look like you. I would also encourage students to learn about the history of the space and respect its legacy when they navigate it.
